Meet the team
President and Founder
Joe Shalapata has 30+ years of experience in the flooring industry. In the odd times he isn’t on the phone, or traveling with colleagues and clients, he can be found at home with his wife of 30 years and his two Shitzhu dogs. He also enjoys living in the Okanagan wine valley and in the summertime he enjoys attending the summer concerts offered at the local wineries.
Co-founder and Payables
Dana is head of our payables and logistics department. She has a passion for interior design and is currently renovating her home with her husband of 30+ years. She enjoys walks with her two Shitzhu puppies around the vineyards of the Okanagan. In the summertime you can find her in the garden and in the winter you can find her spending quality time with her family.
Inside sales and Reception
Taryn is part of our inside sales force. You’ll most likely hear her voice on the phone when you call to inquire about Jona Panel Sales products. Taryn is the mother to a fur baby named Ozzy and enjoys soaking up the Okanagan sunshine in the summer. She loves outdoor festivals and concerts and odds are she has tickets booked for a comedy show, concert or festival in British Columbia at any given time of the year. Taryn loves cooking for her family and is the office chef when it comes to healthy breakfasts and hearty lunches.
Outside Sales Representative
Ian has over 20 years of experience in the building materials industry in all facets including purchasing, logistics and sales. Ian’s primary role is maintaining and expanding Jona’s allied and industrial lines across Western Canada and the United States. He has been part of the Jona Panel Sales Team since June 2015. When Ian is not travelling, you can find him, most of the time, at the golf course, either playing around or practicing at the driving range, as long as the weather is co-operating. Ian also enjoys doing a lot of stay-cations throughout the Pacific Northwest. Being Based out of Tsawwassen BC, a small community 20 minutes south of Vancouver BC makes it easy to get away for the weekend, across the line, Vancouver Island or the Whistler corridor.
Marketing and Inside sales
Murissa Gleboff is head of marketing for Jona Panel Sales. You’ve seen her handy work if you’ve ever held Jona Panel Sales Inc. literature and banners in your hands. She prides herself on providing the best customer service and will help you with any design or specialty display you may need. Murissa enjoys cooking up large meals for her family, baking over the holiday season and walks with her pup Rémi and husband around the Kettle Valley neighbourhood. She loves living in the Okanagan where wineries and the lake provide ample picturesque landscapes to photograph all year round. In the evenings she enjoys reading the latest fiction books and writing for her food and travel website.
Leo Mac Dougall

We have been using GreenE-Board™ for the last 5 years as cladding on our custom built outdoor kitchens and fireplaces. We manufacture the frames with welded tubular aluminum and then sheet the frame with ½” GreenE-Board™. These outdoor cabinets are sold/shipped all over western Canada which means they are subject to all types of climates. The GreenE-Board™ is finished over on site with a variety of materials: granite, tile, stone, stone veneer, concrete, etc. We have had zero issues with the durability and longevity of this product, which is why we will continue to use it on all our projects. In addition to these clear benefits, GreenE-Board™ is also extremely easy to work with. Whether it’s score and snapped, or cut on our table saw, the result is always terrific.

On behalf of Maple Ridge Carpet One , I would like to thank you for the opportunity to use and experience your new product Enstron 1/4 ” . At Carpet One we often use subfloor products in our installations of sheet vinyl and vinyl plank . We have used Enstron products in the past with great success and looked forward to be one of the first to use this new product. We recently installed 50 yards of cushion floor vinyl over your product in a renovation project in Maple Ridge. Our installation team applied the 1/4 ” Enstron over an existing rough plywood subfloor using a 1/4″ crown staple, they achieved a sound, flat pristine subfloor, perfect for vinyl application . A real plus in using this product is that it doesn’t substantially increase the height of your finished application. Carpet One and our client were very happy with the finished product and look forward to future projects using Enstron products.
